Dr. Christian Hey: "Green or Black? Coal versus Renewables"
Datum 03.09.2014
Discussion Panel: Green or Black? Coal versus Renewables. Central European Point of View
The transition from the conventional energy sources into renewable energy is a long–term, complex and cost–intensive process requiring huge financial expenditure and readiness to the coal sector restructuralisation along with a long term and consequent state energy policy. The conclusion is that the coal will remain the main energy source in Poland and the whole CEE region for the next few years. Is the mining industry „idol with feet of clay” or an undiscovered potential requiring deep structural reforms?
